Privacy policy
Louver is a window-blind configurator: you try blinds, light and views in a 3D room. You don’t sign up, and nothing you do in the room is sent to us unless you accept analytics on the cookie card. The only personal data involved is that website analytics, and only if you agree to it.
Who is responsible
The controller of your data is Przemysław Rakowski, Poland. Write to przemek.rakowski@gmail.com with any question about your data or to use your rights.
What we collect, and only with your consent
If you press Accept on the cookie card, we use Google Analytics 4 to see how the configurator is used, so we can make it clearer and easier. It records:
- that you visited, how long you stayed and how far you got (for example: the room loaded, you changed a blind, entered a window size, finished the guided set-up, opened “Request a quote”, copied or opened a configuration link);
- what you did in the room: the blind type, collection, colour and options you picked, how you adjusted the blind, the window sizes you entered (in whole centimetres) and your units, the estimate shown when you opened “Request a quote”, the light, season, view and camera you chose, the tour, the guided set-up and the panels you opened, and your first few taps on the room itself;
- if the room couldn’t be shown on your device, the reason (for example, no WebGL 2);
- technical details: browser, device type, screen size, language, and an approximate location (country or city) derived by Google from your connection;
- the pages you open, without any configuration in their address, and a random ID stored in a cookie, so repeat visits from the same browser are counted once.
The room loads while the cookie card is up. What you do before you answer is held in your browser’s memory only: it is sent if you press Accept, and thrown away if you press Reject or leave without answering.
We don’t collect your name, email or anything else you type (the window sizes above are the only figures you enter), we don’t use the data for advertising (Google’s ad features and Google signals are switched off), and we don’t sell it.
If you press Reject, or don’t answer, Google Analytics is never loaded and nothing is sent to Google.
The events in detail
For the curious, every event the room sends after you accept, and what it carries:
| Event | When, and what it carries |
|---|---|
room_ready, room_enter |
The room is ready; you went in: how long it took to load, how long you waited, the quality level, your units, guided or free |
first_interaction |
Your first change: seconds since you entered, which control |
blind_type_select, blind_option_select |
The blind type; the collection, material, colour, size or option you picked |
blind_adjust |
Which control you moved (tilt, height, rotation, draw and its side, bands, top), the blind type |
light_change, preset_select |
Time of day, season, window direction, sky, view or lamps; the light preset |
camera_shot, panel_toggle |
The camera shot; a panel or tab opened or closed |
tour_start, tour_step, tour_end |
The tour: which step, of how many, finished or not |
configure_start, configure_step,
configure_complete, configure_exit
|
The guided set-up: which step, finished or not |
price_details_open, quote_open |
You opened the price details; “Request a quote”: the estimate and currency, the blind type, where you opened it |
window_size_set |
Width and height in whole centimetres, whether the blind is made in that size, the mounting, the blind type, which window and how many (or that you cleared it) |
link_copied, link_opened |
“Copy link” used (how, and where), or the page opened from a configuration link (the link’s version and whether every part of it could be used); both with the blind type and how many windows, never the link itself |
units_select |
Centimetres or inches, and where you chose them |
scene_tap |
Your first three taps on the room itself, and the camera shot |
visit_summary |
On leaving: seconds on the page, how many changes, how far you got, how many taps on the room, your units |
render_error |
The room couldn’t be shown: whether the browser can’t draw it or it failed, and why |
Each event also says whether you were in the panels or the guided set-up. Google Analytics adds its own page views and engagement time.
Why, and on what legal basis
To understand which parts of Louver people use and where they get stuck, and improve it. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time; that doesn’t affect what was processed before.
Cookies and storage
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
_ga |
Google Analytics: a random ID to tell visits apart. Only after Accept. | 2 years |
_ga_… |
Google Analytics: keeps the current visit together. Only after Accept. | 2 years |
louver:consent |
Your answer on the cookie card (browser storage, not a cookie; never sent anywhere). | Until you clear it |
louver:window |
The window sizes you entered, so a reload keeps them (browser storage; never sent anywhere). | Until you clear it |
louver:config |
The blind you configured (its collection, material, colour, slat or vane size and options), so a reload keeps it (browser storage; never sent anywhere). | Until you clear it |
louver:units |
Whether you measure in centimetres or inches (browser storage; never sent anywhere). | Until you clear it |
Configuration links
“Copy link” puts the blind you configured and your window sizes into the link itself, so whoever opens it sees the same room and estimate. The link holds nothing else: no name, no ID. Opening one replaces the blind and sizes this browser remembered. If you accepted analytics, it records that a link was copied or opened, with the blind type and the number of windows (see above), but never the link or the address it was opened from.
Who receives the data
Google Ireland Limited, as our processor for Google Analytics. Google may process the data in the United States; such transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and Google’s standard contractual clauses.
How long it is kept
Analytics events are kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically. The cookies expire as listed above, or are deleted when you withdraw consent.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your data, its correction or deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, and you can object to processing. Because analytics data is tied only to a random browser ID, we may need that ID to find it. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority; in Poland that is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO), ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw.
Change your choice
Open the cookie card again here, or with “Cookie settings” at the foot of the Light & room panel. Rejecting after accepting switches analytics off, deletes its cookies and reloads the page without it: nothing new is recorded or sent after that. Events already recorded under your consent may still leave as the page reloads.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
